Frequently Asked Questions
Infrared Sauna Therapy FAQs
How should I prepare for my infrared sauna session?
The most important step is hydration. We highly recommend drinking plenty of water both before and immediately after your session to support your body’s detoxification process. It is also best not to apply heavy lotions or oils to your skin before entering.
How long does a session last and how hot does it get?
Standard sessions typically last between 30 to 45 minutes. Our medical-grade infrared saunas usually operate between 110°F to 140°F (43°C to 60°C). This is much lower and easier to tolerate than traditional steam saunas, which can exceed 180°F (82°C).
What should I wear during my session?
You can wear swimwear, clean athletic shorts and a sports bra, or choose to sit completely nude on a clean towel. Because the infrared light waves need to interact with your skin to provide maximum benefits, minimal clothing is recommended.
How is an infrared sauna different from a traditional steam sauna?
Traditional saunas use steam or dry heat to warm the air around you to very high temperatures, which can feel oppressive. Infrared saunas use advanced light spectrums to penetrate your skin and heat your core body temperature directly. This allows you to experience a more intense, detoxifying sweat at a lower, much more comfortable air temperature.
Should I take a cold shower right after my session?
We recommend waiting 10 to 15 minutes before taking a shower. Your body continues to sweat and flush out toxins for a brief period even after you step out of the sauna cabin. When you do shower, a warm or cool rinse is perfect for wiping away the released toxins.
Is infrared sauna therapy safe for everyone?
Infrared therapy is safe and highly beneficial for most individuals. However, it is contraindicated for individuals who are pregnant, have pacemaker implants, severe cardiovascular diseases, or acute joint inflammation. If you have any underlying medical conditions, we advise consulting with your doctor before booking.
